Medical Assistant Course Details
We use the NHA Medical Assistant CCMA study guide as our textbook and provide this required reading at no additional cost to our students! We prepare our students to be ready for their externship at week 12 and students must complete their 80-hour externship at a local medical practice to receive their certificate of completion. Students will have the option of selecting an office to extern at or being placed at a local medical practice to complete the externship.

What Do I Get After Graduation?
Students who graduate from Austin Medical Assistant School receive their Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion from our school. Additionally, students receive their BLS (CPR) certification in class through the American Heart Association.
After graduating from our program you will take the CCMA exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Once you pass this exam you will be a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
