Austin Medical Assistant School now offers Phlebotomy training.
We're proud to introduce Austin Medical Assistant School — a 10-week seminar at our Cedar Park campus, built for medical assistant graduates and working MAs who want to prepare for the NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam.
The program covers the phlebotomy-specific skills and exam content your MA training didn't focus on — without making you repeat the anatomy, terminology, and clinical basics you already know.
A focused path to your second credential.
Shorter than your MA program, 100 total hours, and exam prep built in from day one.
Two evenings per week
50 online · 50 in-person lab
National certification exam prep
Total cost · Payment plans available
Built for medical assistants.
Medical assistants routinely collect blood specimens — it's a core task in the MA role. But hospitals, reference labs, and outpatient draw stations that hire for phlebotomy specifically often prefer or require a dedicated phlebotomy credential alongside clinical experience.
The NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician credential opens doors to those roles. We built Austin Medical Assistant School's Phlebotomy Program so medical assistant graduates and working MAs can prepare for the CPT exam on a schedule that fits a working life — in the same hands-on, small-cohort format they already trained in.
